dried pear
lingering and more complex finale where a touch of minerality adds a sense of lift
I had the opportunity to taste verticals of 2 of La Rioja Altas wines
this needs to add more depth
(this limited two barrel cuvée is crafted from 70+ year old vines that abut the Musigny climat which is also called La Combe d'Orveau and is a monopole of Domaine Jacques Prieur)
Domaine, Heitz-Lochardet Vintage:2021 dried pear(from Le Petit Clos). A fresher combination is comprised by notes of mostly white orchard fruit laced with hints of rosemary oil and lemon rind. There is a lovely sense of energy to the notably rich and tension filled larger scaled flavors that possess very good mid palate volume before concluding in a lingering if mildly warm finale. This should benefit from a few years of cellaring in order to develop a bit more overall depth.
