This is a wonderful battlefield pickup example of the classic Japanese Type 90 Tetsubo ( "steel cap") army helmet, also colloquially called the tetsukabuto ( "steel helmet") by Japanese troops. This helmet came to us with the story that it was a Battlefield cave pickup at Iwo Jima, but we have no documentation or provenance to back that up. Features include: Original metal star applied to front. Partial and detached
