This is a very nice "Battlefield Pickup" example of a German Model 42 Steel helmet, as issued to the Wehrmacht Heer (army). This helmet looks to have been out in the elements for some time before it was recovered and brought home, which has left the interior and exterior mostly devoid of paint, instead showing an oxidized steel patina with peppering overall. This has unfortunately removed any decals that were
