Officer's sword from the mid 1800s. The sword is all brass mounted with an interesting plain "D" hand guard and a very nice "open mouth" Eagle pommel. The grip is carved fluted bone, and while it does show age, we do not see any cracks or chips on it at all. The eagle's head is very well executed, with a lovely antiqued brass patina.
