The scene beautifully depicts daily village Dutch life. Signed by Vertin and dated 1867 on the lower right corner. We have listed the companion painting by Vertin, both from the same estate, in another listing. On the companion painting is what appears to be the word of "Bosch" which could refer to the Dutch town Bosch En Duin and thus,
