Recently acquired from the estate of a prominent American collector this is a fantastic small French First Empire Napoleonic 11 pounder Bronze Howitzer with an engraved Royal Cypher. It is mounted on a modern static wood fortress mount for display purposes. The Howitzer (not a mortar as the trunions are in the center of the tube whereas a mortar has the trunions located at the base of the tube) is constructed of
