generally issued to all the states at the beginning of the Franco-German War

There is wear evident in the leather with fraying and holes in cotton waist band and cuffs

but is quite attractive

The breech block is marked: U. S. MODEL 1873 Offered in very good condition is this trapdoor carbine in . 45 70 government caliber, which was later updated with an adjustable Buffington rear sight and correct barrel band.
